Watching A Bear Named Winnie in all its made-for-Canadian-TV glory. Though, it has already liberally used the word ‘tabernac*’ and you’re not going to get that anywhere else. Plus Gil Bellows is always a good time, and of course I’ll watch anything with Stephen Fry, if only for the 2 scenes he’s in. It’s interesting that Michael Fassbender plays Lt. Harry Colebourn; just an odd choice I guess.
*Though I know it’s the most widely used/recognized, it always sounds weird to me because my mom’s family uses the word “tabawet [sic] (variation on tabarouette)’ as they are an odd sect of Ontarian French where familial words can change from concession to concession, farm house to farm house.
This may be my favourite thing found in this story about the Oilsands protesters on Parliament Hill today.
Ohhh Canada. You’re adorable trying to do grown up things.
This commercial is so bizarre and random but everyone I know loves it and proclaims that they, too, would love a house hippo.
