I finished reading the first, it was absolutely delightful.
Everything lovely, Effortless, Safe
But the second, The Film Club, was missing the last 50 pages or so and somebody wrote on the inside of the back cover “something something Lolita”.

So we had our Christmas today/tonight
So I’ve opened all my presents. I did very well this year!
- a Wii (which I’ve been patiently asking for for nearly 3 years, knowing eventually I would get it)
- a new hair straightener that doubles as a curler
- a kickass alarm clock radio with iPod dock. It’s super fancy and awesome.
- my standard Oil of Olay set that I really enjoy

Had to run into town to get the rest of my dad’s gifts (as is the custom every year, he hates to shop and will decide what he wants for people and I get it for him), ran the last of my errands, and wrapped all the gifts leftover from me, dad, and mum.
Bought myself a lovely shirt for the family Christmas on Sunday (hey! It was on sale and then another 40% after that, thereby totally $11)

Off to the airport later to fly to Toronto and stay at Hostel Chez Lisa overnight. She has promised me a delightful evening of dinner and tv and helping her with a few tasks around her new place.
Then tomorrow we’re going out for breakfast at a charming eatery in her neighbourhood and then she’s driving me home for Christmas!

…that I caught the HBO TV Movie Temple Grandin when I was home over the weekend.
If you haven’t seen it, DO SO. It was unbelievably amazing. Claire Danes was absolute perfection. And it was refreshing to watch something through the eyes of the actual main character who is different - not how the rest of the world reacts to it.

I’m contemplating just going to WalMart after the football game for a ‘midnight run’ to just get it over with. I could then get the two things I need to get for myself (toiletries) out of the way as well.
Tempted and will possibly do. Not like I have a big day at work tomorrow. I could even sleep in a bit if necessary before heading to work.

Ma: Okay so I know you will be on the road this afternoon…you know the routine be careful and call us when you arrive…you can call dad’s cell phone and he will let me know that you have arrived safely…..Lots Of Love Mom
Me: Why dad's cell? Are you guys going on a hot date? With each other?
Ma: O goodness no…I have a Tecsar function to attend…and I am not sure if I will hear my cell phone..and dad said he was going to town.
Me: Is he starting his Christmas shopping A WEEK EARLY? Lord have mercy....
Ma: Yep…he is getting older and wiser.
Me: Or just slower and more feeble.
