25 Random Things about Me
** As originally posted on Facebook yesterday ** 25. I always eat bananas ‘backwards’ - I don’t peel with the stem, I start at the bottom and and pinch the outer skin in to pull it off. There’s a story behind that ;) 24. My favourite word is ‘longevity’. It does and does not roll off the tongue. 23. I am addicted to my tumblr and feel I’ve accomplished...

Random Lisa Factoid #239:
I have used the same screensaver on every computer I’ve ever owned/used for long periods (like work comps) for the past 12+ years.  That’s 3 PCs, 4 laptops, and several others that weren’t mine.  I have, without fail, set up a Text (and now 3D Text) that has said one word, in the same rotating colour, spinning around a black screen.  I have no intention of ever changing it.

The following is a small list of things that I do not care for (some mildly, others vehemently) that other people think is strange.  I have my reasons for each and every one: - Fireworks - Bubble wrap - Reece’s Peanut Butter cups - Sleeping under a comforter/duvet

Magic Roundabout
So, as most of the people who happen to read this know, I lived in England for a year to do my MA.  And I miss it dearly every day.  I had such good friends and good times and good everything.  It was the best year of my life and although I love living in Ottawa/Canada, I really wish I had tried harder to stay there, to work out all the school debt and make a go of it. I was talking to one of my...

Sugar Rush
It’s been said that nothing good happens after 2am (hell, How I Met Your Mother has an entire episode devoted to this concept) but I hold contention with this notion — some of my favourite things have occurred between the hours of 2-4am. This morning’s favourite time frame made me feel nothing short of happiness. {lyrically} …when someone knows you well, well,...

Sooooo, thoughts on what kind of rousing activities (and by that I mean, lazy things we can do to acknowledge the event) we can partake during this, the All-Star weekend?  I was thinking perhaps purchasing ‘les brewskies’ and also maybe making ‘los nachoes’ since I am in possession of some fabulous ground cow now. *teehee, that rhymes!*  Anyhoo, the Skillz part is Saturday...

shadowfirebird: ‘A do-over “would take him 30 seconds, he can do it in private, it’s not a big deal, and he ought to do it just to be safe,” said Boston University constitutional scholar and Supreme Court watcher Jack Beermann. “It’s an open question whether he’s president until he takes the proper oath.” ‘ (Via The Morning News.)  And here I thought it was just a cute, nervous hiccup on...

the conversation
fiftywords: There are some conversations we have, with words so long awaited, so hushed and fragile, so ripe with meaning and mystery, that we pause for some time afterwards, thinking, breathing, feeling the weight of our hearts in the silence. For Sam and Sarah, this was that moment after those words.
